Active and Vital Ingredients
Biotin

Biotin

Biotin is probably the best-known “beauty vitamin” and is also known as vitamin H or B7. If it is lacking in the diet, the deficiency usually manifests itself initially in hair loss, brittle nails, and skin diseases (dermatitis) because important functions in the conversion of carbohydrates and fatty acids are slowed down. It also supplies blood cells and the nervous system. Research has shown that frequent consumption of raw eggs can cause biotin deficiency, even though egg yolks contain large amounts of the substance. This paradoxical fact is due to another ingredient in raw eggs (avidin), which blocks biotin absorption. When supplemented with products such as NOBUSAN, the results are quickly apparent in the form of improved hair growth, stronger nails, and smoother skin. Biotin is found in soy, liver, legumes, spinach, mushrooms, whole grains, yeast, and nuts.

Symptoms of biotin deficiency include brittle fingernails, hair loss, skin problems, nervousness, and fatigue, and even depression.

Artichokes

Artichokes

We mostly know artichokes (Cynara scolymus) as tasty antipasti or as the main ingredient in the popular schnapps Cynar. But this pretty thistle plant from the Mediterranean region can do much more: it can stimulate digestion, protect the liver and gallbladder, and lower cholesterol levels. Artichoke preparations are particularly beneficial after fatty meals, as flavonoids and bitter compounds such as cynaropicrin stimulate the secretion of stomach acid, thereby promoting the breakdown and removal of fats. This prevents bloating and flatulence—and improved fat digestion can actually lower cholesterol levels over time. NOBUSAN therefore uses high-dose artichoke extract primarily to support the liver, gallbladder, stomach, and intestines.

Eggplants

Eggplants

With their beautiful deep purple color, eggplants (Solanum melongena) are not only eye-catching at every market stall and a delicious ingredient in many Mediterranean dishes, but above all, they are healthy. In addition to vitamins B1, B2, and B6, eggplants—yes, eggplants are not vegetables, but botanically speaking, fruits! – full of fat-soluble, cholesterol-binding fiber as well as antibacterial, antioxidant, carcinogenic terpenes, and caffeic acid. Their stomach-protecting effect is also worth mentioning. They are therefore included as a valuable ingredient in some NOBUSAN preparations.

B vitamins

B vitamins

Vitamin E

Vitamin E

As an important antioxidant, vitamin E (tocopherol) protects cells from premature aging and damage caused by environmental influences. Aggressive oxygen molecules, known as “free radicals,” are everywhere and constantly attack proteins, lipids, and cell membranes. This is not a problem as long as antioxidant vitamins from our food maintain protection – but as soon as, for example, the vitamin E level in the blood falls below a critical concentration, cell aging begins. The need for vitamin E is increased when trying to conceive, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, for smokers, those with joint and rheumatic complaints, premenstrual syndrome, and frequent inflammation. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin, which is not a problem as most foods that are rich in it are also high in fat. For all others, a dash of oil or butter should always be added during preparation. Since an overdose of vitamin E is almost impossible, but a deficiency is harmful in the long term, an additional dose in the form of a dietary supplement is always advisable – for example, with the high-quality preparations from NOBUSAN.

Vitamin E is found in hazelnuts, wheat germ, flaxseed, milk, avocado, vegetable oils, cabbage, peppers, and black salsify.

Symptoms of a genuine (rare) vitamin E deficiency include unexplained fertility problems, poor wound healing, sagging skin, age spots, and muscle weakness.

Tomato Extract

Tomato Extract

Red, round, and extremely healthy—tomatoes are not only delicious, but also have many positive effects on vitality. This aromatic vegetable contains a lot of vitamins and minerals, especially immune-boosting vitamin C and potassium. Potassium, for example, influences muscle metabolism, nerve function, and water balance. Carotenoids – the yellow-red plant pigments that give tomatoes their color – have antioxidant properties and have been proven to protect cells. Incidentally, the body can utilize these plant pigments better from processed tomatoes than from raw fruits. Therefore, they should be cut or pureed and, above all, heated before consumption. An extract can be obtained from the juice of tomatoes, or paradise apples as they are also known in Austria, which improves blood flow and has a positive effect within 2 to 3 hours of consumption. It keeps the surface of the blood platelets soft and supple, preventing them from clumping together. Tomato extract can help lower blood pressure and prevent heart attacks or strokes. Men should also be tempted to consume plenty of these red love apples, as the red tomato pigment lycopene has been proven to reduce the risk of prostate cancer! Prostate cancer is rare in Mediterranean countries, which can be attributed to the abundant consumption of tomatoes. Tomato extract is contained in some NOBUSAN products.

Beetroot Powder

Beetroot Powder

Beetroot (Beta vulgaris) has been known as a healthy vegetable for centuries. The deep red tuber from the amaranth family (Amaranthaceae) is particularly rich in vitamin B, iron, potassium, trace elements, enzymes, and folic acid. Beetroot is native to the Mediterranean region; we owe its introduction to Central Europe to the Romans. But beetroot is not only healthy; its juice can even improve performance in endurance sports. The blood-red ingredients lower blood pressure and slow down the breakdown of the performance hormone testosterone – presumably due to the high nitrate content, which the body converts into nitrite, which in turn improves oxygen utilization in the cells. As a result, the body requires less oxygen to perform at the same level. To obtain beetroot powder, the fresh juice of this powerhouse root vegetable is gently dried. The resulting powder is practical and versatile. It is not without reason that NOBUSAN enriches some of its products with this valuable energy booster.

Açai berry

Açai berry

The small, dark blue açai berries of the South American cabbage palm (Euterpe oleracea) are a true miracle when it comes to fighting free radicals. Few other foods contain similarly high amounts of the antioxidant vitamins A, C, E, B1, and B2, as well as the minerals calcium, magnesium, potassium, and iron. As they are also full of essential fatty acids and natural fiber, the açai berry has been incorporated into several NOBUSAN products as a “multi-talent.” Because let's be honest: where could you buy fresh açai berries in Northern Europe? We haven't found any yet.

Kombucha Extract

Kombucha Extract

Yes, kombucha is a trendy drink—but one of the really good ones: fermented with various yeasts thanks to a gelatinous fungus, this finely sparkling tea is revitalizing and thoroughly healthy. As a true power drink, kombucha contains many ingredients that work together to harmonize the metabolism and strengthen the immune system. There are many theories about the origin of kombucha, but for NOBUSAN, only one thing counts: its valuable vital substances. Kombucha contains valuable yeasts that convert sugar into carbon dioxide and alcohol. Bacteria in turn convert these into glucuronic and gluconic acid. In the further production process, the natural ingredients of the tea remain intact, while the yeasts and bacteria continue to produce diligently. The finished kombucha ultimately provides us with vitamins B, C, D, E, and K, essential enzymes, tannins and ferments, folic and oxalic acid, iron, magnesium, sodium, potassium, copper, zinc, manganese, and other trace elements. Although kombucha has a sour, fermented taste in its original recipe that takes some getting used to, it has an alkaline effect on the body and therefore helps to combat hyperacidity and detoxify when consumed daily. Kombucha is also said to have a slight antibacterial effect. Alcoholics should avoid kombucha, as with all fermented drinks.

Grüntee Extrakt

Grüntee Extrakt

Green tea has been considered an elixir of life and fountain of youth in Asia for centuries. Studies in recent years have confirmed its great life-prolonging, health-promoting, and preventive potential: green tea strengthens the coronary arteries and keeps the circulation young, prevents tooth decay through fluoride, and helps with obesity, diabetes, and inflammatory processes. Its effects against Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases and the progression of the neurological disorder Huntington's chorea are currently being discussed. There is also growing evidence that certain types of cancer are less common in regions where green tea is widely consumed. In any case, its polyphenol content makes green tea an excellent radical scavenger and inflammation healer. Other ingredients include the stimulant theine or caffeine, catechins, valuable amino acids, vitamins A, B, and B2, as well as calcium, potassium, phosphoric acid, magnesium, copper, zinc, nickel, and carotene. Its healthy tannins have a mild constipating effect and soothe the gastrointestinal tract. All in all, these are valuable power ingredients that NOBUSAN uses in numerous products, especially in the anti-aging sector.

Grapeseed Extract

Grapeseed Extract

Grapes are known to be very healthy. Even the small, bitter-tasting grape seeds contain many beneficial substances. They contain OPC, an antioxidant discovered in 1948 by French scientist Jack Masquelier. It has powerful antioxidant properties, protecting cells from free radicals, strengthening the immune system, preventing cardiovascular problems, positively affecting cholesterol levels, and supporting all healing processes. Grape seed extract can therefore be described as a natural beauty and anti-aging remedy, as it also supports connective tissue and keeps the skin elastic, which can reduce the formation of wrinkles. If you don't want to eat grape seeds, it is best to take dietary supplements containing grape seed extract. CAUTION: People with a grape allergy should not use grape seed extract. If you are taking blood-thinning medication, you should consult your doctor before using the extract.

Mangosteen Extract

Mangosteen Extract

The mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana) or mangostin is a tropical fruit with a striking purple-red skin. The pigment was formerly used as a dye. The mangosteen tree is native to the Malay Peninsula, where the “queen of Thai fruits” is considered a delicacy. Today, it grows in tropical regions around the world. The evergreen tree grows up to 25 meters tall and bears its delicious fruit in November and December. The white, sour-tasting flesh consists of 5 to 6 segments and contains large brown seeds that are considered inedible. The flesh contains many vital substances, especially vitamin C and calcium. Studies have shown that mangosteen has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties and strengthens the immune system. In the regions where it is grown, the fruit and fruit extract are traditionally used to treat inflammation, fever, infections, skin diseases, catarrh, pain, and digestive problems, among other things. The leathery peel can also be used to make a tea that is rich in bioactive polyphenols—secondary plant compounds with antioxidant effects. NOBUSAN has also discovered the positive properties of mangosteen extract for its products.

OPC

OPC

OPC (oligomeric procyanidins; also known as vitamin P) is the strongest antioxidant known to date. This bioflavonoid is found in varying amounts in grape seeds, red wine, blueberries, some apple varieties, strawberries, and the inner shells of peanuts, and it protects the skin, mucous membranes, and blood vessels in particular. OPC's ability to target specific tissues and strengthen them is remarkable. Shortly after ingesting OPC-containing extracts or foods, it can be detected in the blood and is eagerly absorbed by the body. Unfortunately, the OPC content of our food decreases rapidly with prolonged storage, heating, transport, or exposure to light. Supplementing this spectacular anti-aging agent with a good dietary supplement is therefore highly recommended. NOBUSAN combines OPC in several products with various other vital substances.

Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)

Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)

Anyone who frequently suffers from cracked corners of the mouth, migraine attacks, brittle fingernails, flaky skin around the eyes and nose, or inflamed tongue mucosa should consider the possibility that they may be consuming too little vitamin B2 (riboflavin). It is a component of many enzymes that regulate energy production and protein metabolism and is important for tissue growth. Although it is found in small amounts in many foods, a diet with very few animal products can cause a vitamin B2 deficiency. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, during convalescence after surgery (with tissue regeneration), and in cases of chronic alcohol abuse, the need for vitamin B2 increases significantly and should ideally be supplemented with good supplements such as those from >NOBUSAN. People undergoing treatment for depression should pay particular attention to this vitamin: their medication increases their vitamin B2 requirements, while at the same time a balanced vitamin B2 level in the blood can reduce the necessary dosage of medication!

Vitamin B2 is found in all dairy products, eggs, yeast, wheat germ, sea fish, meat, and (whole grain) cereals.

Symptoms of vitamin B2 deficiency include flaky skin around the eyes and mouth, cracked corners of the mouth (rhagades), changes in the mucous membranes of the nose and tongue, dull and brittle fingernails, and in severe cases, anemia, growth disorders, and degeneration of nerve tissue.
