Active and Vital Ingredients
Amalaki extract

Amalaki extract

In Ayurvedic medicine, the gooseberry-like amalaki or amla fruit (Emblica officinalis) is one of the nine foods that should be consumed daily. The vital substances contained in the fruit strengthen the entire organism, especially the gastrointestinal tract and the immune system. In addition to large amounts of vitamin C, the amalaki fruit contains many other antioxidant vitamins, minerals, and trace elements, as well as valuable bioflavonoids and amino acids. The effect of the “amalaki” vitamin C is greatly enhanced by the tannin it also contains.

Ginseng

Ginseng

The success story of ginseng root (Panax ginseng) began over 2000 years ago in Asia. When European scientists noticed that many Asians lived to an impressive age and remained remarkably fit even in old age, they investigated their lifestyle habits and, in addition to dietary differences, discovered ginseng, which is mainly consumed there as tea and powder. In China, ginseng is called “Jen Shen,” which means “human root” and comes from the root's human-like shape (with a little imagination). Numerous ingredients are responsible for the effects of ginseng, including peptidoglycans, polyacetylenes, and essential oils. In laboratory tests, however, it is primarily the highly concentrated ginsenosides that have stood out, which have immune-boosting, anti-infectious, circulation-stimulating, and blood sugar-lowering effects. Overall, ginseng can be described as a general tonic (= fortifying agent), which is why it is used in several NOBUSAN preparations.

Ginkgo-Extrakt

Ginkgo-Extrakt

The Asian “tree of life” ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba) became famous for its amazing ability to stimulate blood circulation. This effect is traditionally used in medicine to treat circulation-related disorders and diseases: memory loss, arteriosclerosis, tinnitus, dizziness, and some forms of tachycardia. The exact mode of action of ginkgo has not yet been thoroughly researched, but it is generally known in empirical medicine. It is probably the content of flavonoids, terpenes, and other bioactive plant substances such as ginkgolides that give ginkgo leaves their amazing power. This mixture of substances not only improves blood flow, but also protects nerve cells, supports the function of certain neurotransmitters in the brain, and neutralizes free radicals. A case for NOBUSAN!

Ginger

Ginger

Like turmeric, ginger (Zingiber officinalis) belongs to the ginger family. It thrives in tropical and subtropical climates and has been known in German-speaking countries for just over 1,000 years. Ginger root is mainly used in Asian cuisine, where it often serves two purposes: to spice up dishes and to relieve digestive problems. India, China, and Nigeria are world-renowned producers of ginger. The fiery root contains mainly gingerol, essential oils, acids, resins, borneol and cineol, vitamin C, magnesium, iron, calcium, potassium, sodium, and phosphorus. Together, these are said to stimulate digestion and appetite and strengthen the stomach and immune system. In Asia, the roots are also used as a remedy for coughs – no wonder, since ginger root has antibacterial and antiviral properties in any form of preparation, promotes blood circulation, supports bile production, increases intestinal movement, relieves nausea and vomiting (including travel sickness!), and strengthens the heart. Ginger also inhibits blood clotting and is said to slow down the release of pro-inflammatory substances in the body in rheumatic diseases. In studies on osteoarthritis symptoms, pain relief comparable to ibuprofen was achieved. NOBUSAN therefore uses ginger in its STIMUCAL product out of conviction.

Coenzym Q10

Coenzym Q10

Schisandra

Schisandra

The schisandra berry, or berry cluster from the star anise family, is a medicinal plant known as Chinese schisandra (Schisandra chinesis); its Chinese name is Wu Wei Zi. There are 19 to 20 species of this plant genus in China. In China, the berries are chewed directly, drunk as tea, or processed into jams, syrups, and liqueurs. Chinese magnolia vine has long been valued in TCM for its many uses. It is primarily considered to be regenerative and performance-enhancing, but it is also used to treat colds, urinary tract infections, diabetes, asthma, and depression. It also strengthens vision and hearing as well as the sexual energy of both sexes, which is why NOBUSAN uses it in its ANIMYL supplement for women. Schisandra owes its liver-protecting properties to the lignans it contains. For the Chinese, what makes schisandra special is that the fruit represents the flavors of all five elements: it is sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and spicy at the same time.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E

As an important antioxidant, vitamin E (tocopherol) protects cells from premature aging and damage caused by environmental influences. Aggressive oxygen molecules, known as “free radicals,” are everywhere and constantly attack proteins, lipids, and cell membranes. This is not a problem as long as antioxidant vitamins from our food maintain protection – but as soon as, for example, the vitamin E level in the blood falls below a critical concentration, cell aging begins. The need for vitamin E is increased when trying to conceive, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, for smokers, those with joint and rheumatic complaints, premenstrual syndrome, and frequent inflammation. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin, which is not a problem as most foods that are rich in it are also high in fat. For all others, a dash of oil or butter should always be added during preparation. Since an overdose of vitamin E is almost impossible, but a deficiency is harmful in the long term, an additional dose in the form of a dietary supplement is always advisable – for example, with the high-quality preparations from NOBUSAN.

Vitamin E is found in hazelnuts, wheat germ, flaxseed, milk, avocado, vegetable oils, cabbage, peppers, and black salsify.

Symptoms of a genuine (rare) vitamin E deficiency include unexplained fertility problems, poor wound healing, sagging skin, age spots, and muscle weakness.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C

While most other mammals can produce vitamin C from glucose themselves, humans are dependent on an external supply. However, since the antioxidant cell-protecting vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is mainly found in fruit and vegetables, it is easy to become deficient in it during a hectic working day. Often, there is simply not enough time to cook a vegetable dish every day and always have fresh fruit in stock – not to mention the fact that many of us are simply not used to vitamin-rich foods and are more likely to reach for a quick pasta dish or snacks than apples, peppers, etc. Vitamin C performs essential tasks in the body, such as immune defense and detoxification, the formation of bones, connective tissue, and dentin (the “hard” part of the tooth under the enamel), and the utilization of other vital substances in the body, such as iron and carnitine. Smoking, stress, and chronic illnesses increase the need for vitamin C many times over.

Vitamin C is found in fruits and fruit preparations that are particularly rich in vitamin C (especially sea buckthorn, acerola, berries and citrus fruits, local apples, elderberries) as well as fresh vegetables (especially peppers, Brussels sprouts, sauerkraut). Anything that is not served raw should be prepared gently, e.g., steamed briefly with a little water. The produce should come from organic farming if possible, should not have been stored for long periods, and should not have traveled long distances. This ensures that their vitamin content is at its highest. If, for whatever reason, it is difficult to maintain a diet with a high proportion of fresh foods, be sure to supplement any vitamin C deficiency with appropriate dietary supplements, e.g., from NOBUSAN.

Symptoms of vitamin C deficiency include frequent infections, bleeding gums and loose teeth, fatigue, poor wound healing, and a tendency toward mood swings and even depression. *The scientific name for vitamin C – “ascorbic acid” – actually derives from the notorious sailors' disease scurvy, which was caused by vitamin C deficiency on long voyages and manifested itself in hair and tooth loss.

Zinc

Zinc

Zinc is a trace element that influences nearly every bodily function as a component of more than 100 enzymes. It has a particularly pronounced effect on cell and tissue growth, insulin storage, immune defense, male fertility, heavy metal excretion, and the utilization of the essential vitamin A. Externally, we know zinc as an ingredient in numerous wound and healing ointments. Zinc requirements increase with heavy sweating (heat, sports), injuries (surgery, burns), when taking certain medications (diuretics, cortisone, antibiotics, ACTH, and others), and during pregnancy. When the body is fighting an infection, it also needs a lot of zinc; therefore, increased doses are almost always beneficial during the cold season. In our latitudes, zinc deficiency is widespread due to depleted soils and the high degree of processing of our food (e.g., polished rice contains only one-fifth of the zinc content of brown rice!). Nevertheless, it is often only noticed when it manifests itself in the form of wound healing disorders, recurring infections, diabetes, or liver disease. A varied, wholesome diet provides a good foundation, but it must also be maintained because the body does not have large zinc stores.

Zinc is found in oysters (more than 100 mg/kg!), whole grain products, fish and meat (including offal), eggs, carrots, potatoes, and dairy products.

Symptoms of zinc deficiency include poorly healing wounds, frequent colds and other infections, and inflamed skin.

Maca Extract

Maca Extract

Maca (Lepidium meyenii) is a vital plant that thrives at altitudes of up to 4,450 meters on the barren soils of the Andes. The Incas were already familiar with the root—and it was reserved for kings. In Peru, it has been used for centuries as an aphrodisiac for both men and women. This effect, which has now also been researched by urologists and is used by NOBUSAN in its special product >STIMUCAL, is attributed to the isothiocyanates and natural plant steroids in the egg-sized root. In addition, the amino acids and proteins in the maca root stimulate muscle formation and fat burning and help build muscle. Carbohydrates, vital substances such as magnesium, iodine, and zinc, as well as valuable B, E, and C vitamins also ward off infections and free radicals. Maca helps overcome exhaustion, fatigue, weariness, and depression and ensures restful sleep. Although there are no known side effects of maca root, pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before taking the extract.

Damiana-Extrakt

Damiana-Extrakt

Damiana has an erotic stimulating effect! In Mexico, damiana is a scientifically recognized and reliable remedy for sexual impotence.

The damiana shrub, which grows up to two meters high, thrives in South America, but is particularly popular in Mexico, where it is used in folk medicine to treat colds and other infections. In this country, the still relatively unknown shrub is said to have other effects: The Maya are said to have used the plant as an aphrodisiac and to increase skin sensitivity. Although this and its effect against menstrual pain have been handed down, they have not yet been scientifically proven. It is an interesting plant that NOBUSAN Nutrition does not want to withhold from its customers and therefore uses it in the STIMUCAL preparation for men.

Tribulus Terrestris

Tribulus Terrestris

Tribulus terrestris is the best-known representative of the burr thorn genus and has, among other things, a blood pressure-lowering and potency-enhancing effect.
The herbaceous plant grows up to 50 centimeters high, has hairy leaves, yellow flowers, and characteristic schizocarps, some of which have hard spines. The annual to biennial plant is mainly found in tropical and subtropical countries. An extract can be obtained from the earth burr, as the plant is also known, which strength athletes and bodybuilders use as a natural anabolic. It is said to stimulate testosterone production and thus accelerate muscle growth, as the hormone promotes muscle growth. Traditionally, the extract is also used to increase libido. Furthermore, the plant is said to increase strength, support regeneration, and have antifungal properties. For the reasons mentioned above, Tribulus terrestris is included in the special “men's product” STIMUCAL from NOBUSAN.
