Active and Vital Ingredients
Biotin

Biotin

Biotin is probably the best-known “beauty vitamin” and is also known as vitamin H or B7. If it is lacking in the diet, the deficiency usually manifests itself initially in hair loss, brittle nails, and skin diseases (dermatitis) because important functions in the conversion of carbohydrates and fatty acids are slowed down. It also supplies blood cells and the nervous system. Research has shown that frequent consumption of raw eggs can cause biotin deficiency, even though egg yolks contain large amounts of the substance. This paradoxical fact is due to another ingredient in raw eggs (avidin), which blocks biotin absorption. When supplemented with products such as NOBUSAN, the results are quickly apparent in the form of improved hair growth, stronger nails, and smoother skin. Biotin is found in soy, liver, legumes, spinach, mushrooms, whole grains, yeast, and nuts.

Symptoms of biotin deficiency include brittle fingernails, hair loss, skin problems, nervousness, and fatigue, and even depression.

Calcium

Calcium

Calcium is not only the main building block for bones and teeth, but also plays an important role in blood clotting, muscle and nerve function, and the prevention of allergic reactions. Its bone-strengthening effect—particularly important for those with an increased tendency toward osteoporosis—is most effective in combination with vitamin D3, which the body can only produce itself through exposure to sunlight. When you consider that an adult body can “store” up to 1.4 kilograms (!) of calcium, the importance of this mineral becomes clear.

IMPORTANT: If you have a family history of osteoporosis, do not eat dairy products, suffer from any allergies, or, for example, mosquito bites always swell up extremely and itch for a long time, you should permanently increase your calcium intake significantly – up to 1200 mg per day. Such high doses cannot be achieved through diet alone. In these cases, use supplements such as those from NOBUSAN. Since water-soluble calcium is excreted via body fluids (urine, sweat, feces), side effects from long-term maximum doses (>1500 mg/day) are only to be expected if fluid intake is consistently insufficient. They can manifest themselves in urinary stones and hypercalcemia (excessive calcium levels) in the blood and organs. Therefore, drink at least 2, preferably 3 liters daily and have your calcium levels checked regularly by your doctor if you are taking additional supplements.

Calcium is found in all dairy products, green vegetables, oatmeal, nuts, and some mineral waters. (Black tea and phosphates in sausage products, processed cheese, soft drinks, etc. have been found to inhibit calcium absorption; however, as these foods have no significant nutritional value and many disadvantages, it should not be too difficult to avoid consuming them regularly. The situation is different with large quantities of recommended foods such as whole grains, legumes, spinach, or rhubarb. These also reduce calcium absorption somewhat, but should not be eliminated from the diet. Just don't overdo it.

Symptoms of calcium deficiency include a tendency to break bones, dental problems (enamel erosion, periodontitis), and excessive allergic reactions. The most serious long-term consequence of calcium deficiency is definitely osteoporosis (decrease in bone density/bone softening) in old age.

L-Carnitin

L-Carnitin

If you want to lose weight, L-carnitine is almost indispensable as a dietary supplement. It is synthesized by the body from the amino acids methionine and lysine and is primarily responsible for energy production within the cells. Since L-carnitine also boosts fat burning, it can act as a real “fat melter” in calorie-reduced diets and competitive sports. The only significant sources of L-carnitine in food (meat and dairy products) are all of animal origin; only nuts and seeds, as well as some types of vegetables and fruit, contain traces of L-carnitine. Anyone who does not eat animal products (vegetarians and vegans; some allergy sufferers) should therefore ensure they consume L-carnitine from external sources while on a diet! NOBUSAN has therefore added it to its NUPREM dietary supplement.

B vitamins

B vitamins

Folic acid (vitamin B9)

Folic acid (vitamin B9)

Most people know folic acid or vitamin B9 as the typical “fertility and pregnancy vitamin” – but it is important for much more than just cell division processes. To be precise, it is not even a vitamin, but a coenzyme and, as such, is involved in a variety of biochemical reactions such as blood formation; It also protects against arteriosclerosis. Folic acid deficiency is one of the most widespread deficiency symptoms, which is probably due, among other things, to the fact that it loses much of its effectiveness through exposure to light, heat, and long storage of our food. Supplementation with vital substance preparations such as those from NOBUSAN is therefore advisable for almost everyone, but especially during pregnancy and breastfeeding, when taking certain medications (laxatives, antiepileptics, cytostatics, antimalarials), with high alcohol consumption, and gastrointestinal diseases.

Folic acid is found in whole grain products, egg yolks, vegetables (cabbage, spinach, fennel, pumpkin, mushrooms, avocado), legumes, wheat germ, yeast (flakes), and nuts.

Symptoms of folic acid deficiency include changes in the mucous membranes in the mouth (e.g., burning sensation on the tongue), diarrhea, seemingly unexplained loss of appetite, and nausea, and can even lead to pathological changes in the blood count. If a woman does not consume enough folic acid during pregnancy, this can lead to malformations in the unborn child (neural tube defect).

Potassium & Sodium

Potassium & Sodium

Although potassium and sodium are actually referred to as “antagonists,” they work together to perform important tasks in cell, enzyme, and nerve metabolism. While potassium is mainly found inside cells, sodium is more likely to be found in the extracellular space. The so-called “potassium-sodium pump” ensures that a stable osmotic pressure within the nerve cell allows for the transmission of stimuli, on which all of our bodily functions depend. Potassium also regulates water distribution in the body, while sodium controls, among other things, muscle excitability and the production of digestive juices. People who sweat a lot, suffer from diarrhea or vomiting, or have to take diuretic medication can quickly become deficient. Athletes must keep an eye on their potassium/magnesium balance, as they excrete large amounts of both minerals when sweating. Supplementation is almost always recommended in this case—for example, with the balanced combination preparations from NOBUSAN.

Sodium is found in all salty foods, as it is well utilized by the body as the main component of table salt.

Potassium is found in vegetables, fruit, dried fruit (especially dried bananas), and grains.

Symptoms of a combined potassium/sodium deficiency include nausea and confusion, drop in blood pressure, and cramps. Potassium deficiency alone sometimes manifests itself in bloating, constipation, and heart muscle weakness. Patients with high blood pressure should consume sodium in moderation. In this case, ask your doctor whether you should switch to a low-sodium diet.

Celery

Celery

Like many other vegetables and herbs used in home cooking, celery (Apium graveolens) and all its parts have much more to offer than just a contribution to the menu. From the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, it was even used primarily as a medicinal plant, providing NOBUSAN with its valuable ingredients. Particularly noteworthy are the diuretic and blood-purifying effects of celeriac, which make it an expert remedy for rheumatism, gout, and skin diseases, water retention, and slow menstruation. But celery also strengthens the circulation and nerves, helps with bronchitis, and is even “suspected” of being an aphrodisiac due to its circulation-boosting and stimulating effects. In medicine, certain ingredients are used for the targeted treatment of specific skin diseases such as psoriasis and vitiligo, although the furanocoumarins that are effective here are not without risk because they can increase the skin's sensitivity to light. People who are allergic to celery may experience severe reactions (celery-carrot-mugwort spice syndrome). In addition to essential oils, celery contains vitamins B1, B2, B12, vitamin C, and vitamin E, as well as potassium, calcium, and iron.

CAUTION: Due to its high potassium content, kidney patients should refrain from excessive consumption of this healthy root vegetable.

Pumpkin Seed Extract

Pumpkin Seed Extract

Pumpkin seeds not only taste great, they also help with particularly unpleasant symptoms: bladder weakness and prostate enlargement in old age. In these cases, it is important to consult a urologist. With pumpkin seeds, pumpkin seed oil, or pumpkin seed extracts, those affected can also stimulate the healing process themselves and strengthen the bladder or prostate—an important reason for NOBUSAN to use the ingredients of the seeds in its products. But these miraculous pumpkin powers are not all: the seeds of the medicinal pumpkin Cucurbita pepo, named medicinal plant of the year in 1995, also contain the antioxidant vitamins A, B, C, and E, as well as numerous other vital substances, including selenium, copper, zinc, magnesium, iron, and plant estrogens, known as lignans. These phytohormones have a hormone-regulating effect in both men and women, helping to relieve bladder inflammation and constant urinary urgency, strengthening the bladder and pelvic floor muscles, and alleviating the symptoms of stress incontinence. In men, they can relieve benign prostate enlargement and the associated urinary problems.

Wakame Seaweed

Wakame Seaweed

Natural substance containing iodine and alginic acid to support intestinal detoxification.

Parsley

Parsley

Kitchen herb and magical plant – even the ancient Egyptians wove parsley (Petroselinum crispum) into wreaths to honor their dead. Thanks to its high chlorophyll content, parsley helps detoxify and purify the blood and ensures fresh breath. It is also a real powerhouse, combining many vitamins and vital substances. In addition to magnesium, iron, and calcium, parsley also contains potassium, phosphorus, manganese, and sulfur, as well as vitamin A, numerous B vitamins, vitamin K, beta-carotene, and folic acid. The green herb has a correspondingly wide range of uses. Parsley strengthens teeth and bones, combats heartburn, strengthens the heart, and combats fatigue. Its stimulating effect on the kidneys, bladder, and urinary tract is also very important—a true jack of all trades! It's a shame that it's usually only used to season our food and make it look pretty—this makes it difficult to consume sufficient amounts of its valuable active ingredients. NOBUSAN therefore makes it available in concentrated form in its stomach product RENULAN. Only kidney patients and pregnant women should avoid parsley, which contains potassium; it contains too much potassium for diseased kidneys, and excessive use (especially of parsley root) during pregnancy could stimulate premature contractions of the uterus.

Bell pepper

Bell pepper

The genus Capsicum belongs to the nightshade family and originates from regions stretching from Brazil to Bolivia. Chili peppers, the small relatives of bell peppers, are tiny fire pods full of capsaicin, a substance that not only fires up the digestive system, but is also used externally in heat patches and ointments. There are numerous medical applications. Native Americans, for example, used paprika as a remedy for toothache and osteoarthritis. Today, the specific active ingredient in paprika is used to treat lumbago and other nerve complaints such as neuralgia and polyneuropathy. Its effects on heart health and cancer are still being researched. NOBUSAN relies not least on the “fat-burning” properties of capsaicin.

Chlorella algae

Chlorella algae

Chlorella freshwater algae have been used as dietary supplements for quite some time. The algae are particularly rich in nutrients and also have a detoxifying effect. They contain numerous important plant proteins and a wide range of vitamins and minerals, as well as chlorophyll, which not only protects cells from free radicals, but also protects our fellow human beings from unpleasant odors after hearty garlic consumption. Chlorella algae are also full of important fatty acids and amino acids, which protect against calcification of the blood vessels and thus against cardiovascular disease. With their special structure, these single-celled organisms contribute to detoxification and purification, which is why they are used specifically for detoxification therapy in cases of heavy metal poisoning (e.g., after amalgam removal) – and are also an essential ingredient in NOBUSAN products.

Nori seaweed

Nori seaweed

Nori algae refers to red algae species (mostly Porphyra yezoensis or Porphyra tenera), which are known in German by the evocative names Purpurtang, Meerlattich, or Seegras. Nori has long been known to sushi lovers as the “wrapper” for delicious rice and fish rolls. Thanks to its high iodine content, nori seaweed can contribute to an optimal iodine supply, as Western Europe is considered an iodine-deficient region. In addition, seaweed is rich in proteins, essential amino acids, polyunsaturated fatty acids, calcium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. Nori & Co. also contain vitamins A, C, E, and B12. >NOBUSAN offers you this special type of vegetable as a dietary supplement that has been valued in Chinese medicine for thousands of years as a remedy for lowering blood pressure and purifying the blood, as well as strengthening the immune system.

Coenzym Q10

Coenzym Q10

Artichokes

Artichokes

We mostly know artichokes (Cynara scolymus) as tasty antipasti or as the main ingredient in the popular schnapps Cynar. But this pretty thistle plant from the Mediterranean region can do much more: it can stimulate digestion, protect the liver and gallbladder, and lower cholesterol levels. Artichoke preparations are particularly beneficial after fatty meals, as flavonoids and bitter compounds such as cynaropicrin stimulate the secretion of stomach acid, thereby promoting the breakdown and removal of fats. This prevents bloating and flatulence—and improved fat digestion can actually lower cholesterol levels over time. NOBUSAN therefore uses high-dose artichoke extract primarily to support the liver, gallbladder, stomach, and intestines.

Eggplants

Eggplants

With their beautiful deep purple color, eggplants (Solanum melongena) are not only eye-catching at every market stall and a delicious ingredient in many Mediterranean dishes, but above all, they are healthy. In addition to vitamins B1, B2, and B6, eggplants—yes, eggplants are not vegetables, but botanically speaking, fruits! – full of fat-soluble, cholesterol-binding fiber as well as antibacterial, antioxidant, carcinogenic terpenes, and caffeic acid. Their stomach-protecting effect is also worth mentioning. They are therefore included as a valuable ingredient in some NOBUSAN preparations.

This “green wonder” combines nutrient-rich ingredients from 14 different vegetables with a powerful mixture of vitamins, minerals and trace elements, as well as other vital substances.
